Changing "From" address when using Unix sendmail

Hey all. I'm trying to use sendmail to send mail via a Unix command but I can't seem to change the "From" address.

I'm calling sendmail via a program but have also tried command line but nothing seems to work. The attached code snippet shows what is inside the file that is being sent through the sendmail command.

What I want to do is send an email and change the "from" field from user@server.com to simply "Specified Name" without the "@internalserver.server.com".

Any ideas?

Command to execute sendmail:

I tried the -f and it still didn't work. I ran it from the command line and it didn't work.  I was using the same address for the from as I was for the "to", once I changed that it worked.

It turns out that I was trying to send "firstname lastname" and it needed an actual email address. So, I had an entry put into /etc/passwd where an ID translated to the name I wanted to have displayed. I then used that ID@server.com as the "from" field.
