Beginners help with using an SWC in Flex

I have an application that was developed in Flex. However the instructions are very vague. I neeed to configure the SWC and build a SWF. I have no idea how to do this, the instructuions say how to import the SWC to a project, and I have created a new project and done that...but whenever I drag the SWC onto the workspace, it opens a tab with garble in it. I am frusturated because Flash was hard enough to learn, now this

I feel so embarrased to have to ask something that one day I will probably laugh at myself for (like when I asked once upon a time how to make letters bold on html pages :/) Anyway any help is so appreciated, I am so frusturated.Start Free Trial
