I am trying to figure out how to wrap the text of a long label within the label parameter of a VBox or Canvas component within a TabNavigator component. Currently, if the text is too long, it is truncated with elipses (...). If I set the tabHeight and tabWidth of the TabNavigator component, then wrap the text with ActionScript it will only display the first line of text. It seems like there needs to be a way to set the label's Height and Width paramter as well, but I can't determine how to do it. I have seen a lot of questions with regard to this issue, but no apparant resolve. Please help!

Oh. What I meant to say was the TabBar of the TabNavigator can have a custom labelFunction
For example:
<mx:TabBar id="tabBar1" width="50%" height="100" direction="horizontal" dataprovider="{viewStack}"
And then shortLabels() can be defined to return the truncated string:
public function shortLabels(item:Object):S
// you can access label by item[>>>labelField<<<] and truncate it using the string functions
return "blah"; // you must return the truncated string instead of 'blah'
}
thanks again - hmm, this doesn't seem to be as clean a solution as I would like. And I'm not looking for truncated text - I want the entire long string, and all I want to be able to do is force it to wrap within the tab; preferably in the VBox or Canvas that I define in the tabNavigator. When using the tabBar I have to not only customize everything, but also create actionScript so that each every target is defined (e.g. tell the tab bar where to go when tab A is clicked, etc.) It's hard to believe that can't be accomodated :( I'm going to wait a little to see if there is any other feedback, and keep trying to work with this in the meantime.

The TabNavigator has a TabBar, and the labelFunction for the TabBar can be user defined. That should do it? :)
