I'm new to HTML. Currently I have an index page and an images folder as below:

http://my_domain_name.com/
How can I write the code in my index.html page, so that everytime the user/visitor refresh or reload the index.html page, different picture will shown in the index page? (all the pictures are in the images folder).

You can eliminate the array if you use the above naming convention for the images and then the function would be:
function setbanner()
{
pntr = Math.round(Math.random()* 5);
str='images/banners'+pntr+
document.images['banner'].
}
And if you want to rotate the images dynamically as a slide show; say every ten seconds then you do the function like this:
function setbanner()
{
pntr = Math.round(Math.random()* 5);
str='images/banners'+pntr+
document.images['banner'].
setTimeout('setbanner()',1

Opps, small wrong typing. Anyway, let say I have 3 pictures, 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, and the pictures' size are aound 200KB, and I want them to refresh every 5 seconds. The problem is, after I run the page, I discover that before a particular picture has been finish loaded, the page will refresh-->it results no picture is shown(no enough time for the picture to be loaded) (p/s: hope you understand what i'm trying to explain ^_^). So, what modification have to make to solve this problem? can we do load all the pictures first, then let it to rotate?

You can use this script to preload the images:
