Why is this "Very Dangerous!"

Asked by volking in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Web Browsers, Networking Security Vulnerabilities

It is generally stated that ... letting a web surfer upload an entire HTML PAGE to your server, then serving the HTML page back to other surfers, is a "VERY DANGEROUS" thing to do.

WHY?

And PLEASE don't answer with drivel, opinion or hearsay! I want SOLID answers like, "Using HTML tags <X> <y> or <Z> will let the surfer see directory structures."

Or better yet, an answer like .... "Read article XYZ in Magazine ABC" ... would be excellent!
