Outlook 2007 not starting from intranet web page

We have a corporate intranet with a link which opens the users outlook inbox. The html code for this is:-

<td width="10%" align="center"><a HREF="outlook://inbox">Outlook</a>

This has been working fine for Outlook 2003, but some machines have now been installed with Outlook 2007 and Outlook will not open from the web page. The error code is:-

The web page cannot be displayed.
