CSS text-shadow browser compatibility

As far as I know the text-shadow style is ssupported by Safari and Opera, but not by IE or Firefox.  So what I would like to do is change the text color in IE and Firefox. How do I modify the code below to do that?  Can  it be done with HTML? do you have completely separate stylesheets for each browser? Perhaps it's easier done by making text-shadow and color inline styles,I don't know.  

I can't even remember the HTML comment that just tells IE6 to skip the next line of code. So please be thorough and specific in your response, since I can be quite dense at times.

look at these links and you will see why you don't want to do it the text shadow way.  When it is done properly, it is X-browser compatible, you don't need browser tests

The drop shadow effects are better than the CSS3 text shadow effects of this --

The lack of support in some browsers is simply because they don't do CSS3 yet, but the above solutions look better anyway.  Can give more if you want.
