Is text orientation is possible in HTML?

I want to display a table with its heading text oriented in 90 degree (same like in Excel - Format Cells - Alignment - Orientation).

<tr><td orientation=90>Head1</td><td orientation=90>Head2</td></tr>
<tr><td>data1</td><td>data2</td></tr>
</table>

Is this possible in HTML code?

In short, No.

The link above shows a really hacky way to do it, but it's very messy.

I do believe CSS 3 may support things like this, but don't quote me on that.

The easiest way to achieve text at an angle like that would be an image containing the text.

Remember only do this for short unimportant bits of text, as text in images is not crawlable by search engines. :)
