Browse All TopicsI have a server running RedHat Linux V2.4.20-28.7smp, Apache 1.3.23, MySQL 4.0.17-standard and PHP 4.1.2, and when I try to connect to the database thru a php script accessing the mysql_connect function I receive the following msg:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect()
I have uncommented the 'extension=mysql.so' entry in /etc/php.ini, per other FAQ's that have been reported. But, can't seem to understand what the problem is.
Any help would be appreciated.....Thanks!

You will need to check if the following additional packages are installed:
php_mysql-....
To check this on your system, give the following command in the shell:
$ rpm -qa | grep "mysql"
This will list out the packages of mysql. If above php_mysql is not installed, then download it from redhat and install it.
