The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Feedback of the Community

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. question about date on mysql

I want to keep the date of addition of an entry in my sql table.
There are tons of ways that i find around the net to do that. What i want to ask is what type should i use (DATE, TIMESTAMP, DATETIME). I dont care to keep the time. I only will use the date to sort my items by it.

Moreover i would like to ask which is the best suggested way to insert date values into the table, meaning how to get the current data and how to format it accordinlgy to the data type i selected. I make my insertions using INSERT INTO table SET ..etc.
