What is the best way to record date in PHP/MYSQL for easy sorting ?

Hi,

I would like to request an assistant.

May i know what is the best way to record date in MYSQL using PHP, so that it will be easier to sort and use the date recorded later  ?

If possible , i would like to have a simple working PHP script for me to view and understand the concept.

The sample if possible should include, the recording stage , querying stage and sorting stage.

Appreciates your kind assistant on this.
