problem with simple mysql update statement

I'm trying to run a simple mysql update statement, but I keep getting this error message:

Querry Problem: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '( password = '452542542kj5k43l2543543245hklh', userid = '8e2fa88c047d44e02cf800b0cec54' at line 1

It has something to do with the code below, but the update query (below) is on line 75 and the error message says the error is at line 1... I'm not sure why that is. The page is a couple of hundred lines long so I hate to post the whole page. Does anyone see a problem with the code below?
