What php code will search for html files in a folder and then automatically create a dropdown navigation menu to select them?

Hi,

Can someone help me? (2nd attempt at posting this request)

I have a folder called 'content' on my weberver, e.g.
//mysite.com/content/

It contains .html web pages.
I would like a php page e.g. findfiles.php (//mysite.com/findfiles.php)
to search the folder 'content' for all html pages and present them as a link in a dropdown menu.

On selecting a file from the dopdown list that page should then load within findfiles.php, beneath the navigation. The dropdown navigation remains visible, and useable.

Perhaps on first run, a welcome note should say 'please use the dropdown menu to select a page from our archive - pages appear here when selected.'

NB I already have another php page to automatically update another, different page, based on the current date and by the name of files within the 'content' folder.

It would be handy to take this into account.
Files are named by date that they go live, e.g. 23_09_2009.html

It would be excellent to sort the dropdown menu by date / numerically so the most up to date resides at the top of the menu.

Perhaps it would be wise to limit the number of files to the last 15.

One final point, the folder 'content' will contain files named / dated beyond the current date. It's important that these files are not listed or available in the drop down menu. E.g. 01_01_2011.html
