I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I had tried this before posting and its not working. Same problem. The testing for active = 1 and $var = 6 works, but as soon as I add the 2 or 3 'or' condition it fails.

I need to say if $var = 1 AND ($var != 6 || 8 || 12)
I find I get it working with $var = 1 AND 6, but when I try and get it to test if var is not equal to 6 or 8 or 12, then it fails. I have put brackets around it but not luck
