The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to create a form similar to contact form in magento

Asked by ChefMaha in PHP for Windows, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), E-Commerce

Tags: form, send email, magento

Hi all,

Im trying to create an order form in magento.. which will be very similar to the contact form in  (but with additional fields).

This is what I have done so far:

1. created a new folder called Order inside: app\code\core\Mage, copy pasted all the folders inside the Contacts folder in the same directory, and edited all the files inside that folder by replacing every contacts with order and Contact Us with Order Online.

2. created a Mage_Order.csv inside \app\locale\en_US and another one inside \app\locale\ar_SA with the same contents as Mage_Contacts.csv.. but of course by changing all contacts to order.. and so on.

3. created an order.xml inside: \app\design\frontend\default\default\template with the same exact contents of contacts.xml (of course by replacing every instance of contacts with order")

4. inside app\locale\en_US\template\email, I added an order_form.html by copying contents of contact_form.html and customizing it to reflect the order form.

5. added a <Mage_Order_Helper_Data/> tag to \app\code\core\Mage\Compiler\etc\compilation.xml

6. added a folder called order to app\design\frontend\default\default\template. Inside the order folder I added a form.phtml which I copied from the contacts folder and customized it by replacing contacts with orders

Now, when I navigate to /index.php/order/?___store=default, I get a 404 not found page..

What am I missing?

any help is appreciated
