All I need is to write the whole string to an input box, but it gets cut off at the first space encountered. How do I solve this problem?

When this code is run it displays an input/text box with BUTCHER in it not BUTCHER BROOKS.

You should also use htmlspecialchars() on the string before putting it in the input box, like this:
echo '<font><input type="text" name="VICTIM" value="'.htmlspecialchars(
That way, if the string $VICTIM contains characters such as ", > or anything like that, they will be escaped and your data will still show up correctly.

you need double-quotes around the value attribute's data. Easy to get confused with the single-quotes to end the string literal.
