The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? String Search

Hello,

I need to do the following.

I need to search a string and remove (from the beginning) any occurances of re: RE: FWD: fwd:

As you probably guessed, it is the subject of email that i am searching and I am trying to remove any of the reply or forward signatures added by email clients.

The logic would probably be search for any combination of 're:' and or 'fwd:' until the search hits the first 2 letters that do not make tha6t combination and return the rest of the string.  It will probably use ereg or preg.  I am not that familiar with the pattern creation and would appreciate if someone oculd give me a hand in writing this little function.
