The Solution Rating System

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Use PHP and GD to resize pictures upon upload

Dear all,

I have a PHP page provided by our very kind member huji in this thread:

I now want to take this further and have the users, when they submit a picture that has a larger width than 640 pixels it should be automatically resized and uploaded and the user given the link as the currently do.

This means I can get rid of the file size limit of the current php page.

I need criteria such as:

if the picture is smaller than 640 in width, it should be left alone (not re-sized) and simply uploaded as normal.

the image should maintain its proportions and must be resampled :)

I would only like it to apply to .bmp .tif . jpeg and .jpg files - I am going to open up the current php code to allow video uploads in .mpeg .wmv and .avi - can I set a file size limit of 5Mb for these too?

Sorry for so many questions, I understand I need GD enabled on the webhost and it is :)
