Replace text string on page with PHP code

I'm trying to find a way to replace every occurance of the text "yellow" on the page with something like "<? echo "blue"; ?>"

This would need to be done as soon as the page loads so when someone views the page they don't see the word "yellow" at all, they see "blue" (for example).

How would I go about doing this?

$data will contain the text you are searching...

Do this then...

$data = str_replace('yellow', 'blue', $data);

$data now will have all occurance of 'yellow' replaced with 'bue'

Doesn't do anything.

data should hold the string you are trying to manipulate like

<?PHP
$data = 'I like the color yellow';
$data = str_replace('yellow','blue',$data);
echo $data;
?>

This works the same as <?PHP echo str_replace('yellow','blue','I like the color yellow'); ?>

?>

When you get a warning on ob_get_clean(), use this instead:
<?php
  $c = ob_get_contents();
  ob_end_clean();
  echo str_replace('yellow','blue', $c);
?>

I need the string replaced in the entire page, every time it is loaded.
How would I do this?

Load the text that is supposed to be displayed on the page into a variable.

$page_text = 'This is the page I am going to display to my users.  I need to replace all instances of the word `wordx`.';
$page_text = str_replace('wordx','######',$page_text);

Just echo out the $page_text variable wherever you want it to be displayed.

u would try this, if this works.

$string = file_get_contents('http://www.google.com/');
$string = str_replace('Images', 'This Works, testing testing 1,2,3', $string);
print ($string);

>>>
