The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Need to get name of query-string variable containing keywords from URL for keyword extraction

Hello experts!

I need to do some parsing of URLs to extract keywords. I have a nice function to pull the kws and sources from a URL, but in it I define the keyword-variable to make the parsing possible. For example, in this URL:

http://www.google.com/search?q=pig%20iron&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

the query-variable would be "q". In this one:

http://www.some-domain.com/search.php?qq=Pig%20Iron&id=32997&said=tomcat

it would be "qq".

What I really need is a function to tell me, for any query-string that contains keywords, what the name of the variable that holds the keywords is. Then I could plug that in to my current function and proceed with keyword-extraction. (I want to do this on the fly, which is no problem because the keyword-extraction function is already created dynamically. If I just could get the name of the query-variable I'd have what's needed.) I think this is rather hard to do and probably can't be done 100% reliably. I'm hoping some of you are more clever than I! I'm offering 500 points to the best PHP code anyone can provide me to do this. If no one can come up with any working code, I'll split the points amonst the most helpful comments.
