After I install phpmyadmin finish it warn me
Cannot load mcrypt extension. Please check your PHP configuration.
How can I fix the problem

Download and install the PHP-mcrypt RPMS: http://phprpms.sourceforge.net/mcrypt

What Operating System and how did you install PHP?

I use redhat enter prise linux 4 (centos4.4) and in stall by select package from cd disk

You can grab the php-mcrypt from http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4.4/centosplus/i386/RPMS/php-mcrypt-5.1.6-1.el4.centos.i386.rpm and install it.  Please take note that the above is for i386, if you are using X84-64, please find it from http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4.4/centosplus/ accordingly.

yeah useful for me too. I have been a wamp (using XAMPP and old custom windows installation) user and no I moved to linux installed on my own PC rather than just my remote severs. I had to setup lampp on my local linux server and I use

yum install php-m*

and it fixed the mbstring thing and also this mcrypt thing for me. Its cool. Thanks for sharing this information.
