fwrite an array in php

I have an array I need to write to a file. I would like to do something like: $stringData = $table1data;
fwrite($fh, $stringData); but I am having trouble making the data from the array into a variable. If it is easier, doing fwrite($fh, ARRAY); would be fine. Here is the array: <? $table1data = ($$iteration != "")?"<td>$printstandard</td><td>$options_name</td><td>$options_retail</td>" : "<br/>"; ?>
