Wondering why files ending in .phpold don't display other .php files

In building a new site, when I'm done testing the home page, I rename it index.phpold. However, once renamed .phpold, it doesn't display other .php files on the home page, like it does when named regular index.php. I'm wondering what the reason for this is.Start Free Trial
