PHP script page redirect advice

Hi,

I am coding in PHP .On some actions such as button click in HTML I want to execute a PHP script. But after the script is executed I want the user to be brought to the before page. How can I do that?

Right now I doing it but using header("Location: index.php") but problem is everytime a new tab is opening up in firefox. which is not a best practice.
