Here's another attempt that doesn't work. The XPath seems good to me, but I get nothing back. I think it must have something to do with the namespaces.

All the examples I've seen seem to query simple XML documents. None show how to query something with a namespace. SimpleXMLElement seems to allow me to register namespaces, but I am not getting the results I think I should be getting. Can anyone help?
I do not want a RegEx solution. I need to execute this query via XPath.

I did not read this in detail, and I am not PHP developer at all,
but at first glance you seem to be missing a namespace declaration for
xmlns="http://www.domain.c
you can't pass a default namespace , so you will have to invent a prefix for that
$MyDomXPath->registerNames
and then consequently prefix all the nodes in tha namespace
$MyXpath = "//dom:ReturnObject";
