Drupal add the File Attachments to The Node

Hello I am using Drupal, the Conent Management System  to build one of my site and I am having problems with.I hope I can find some one in here.

Essentially I created a New Node type and created a node-type.tpl.php .Evreything looks good till then.Now I need to add some attachments.Since my node has been overidden I am unable to view the attachments that have been uploded.I can upload the file but I am unable to see the attached file.I know I need to add the 'Attachment element' in the node-type.tpl.php but due to my limited PHP coding I am unable to do so ..Could you please help,This is my last resort.
