The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Fatal error: Cannot use object of type Cart as array

I have a script originally written for php 4 and is being moved to a server running php 5.

It now give the error:

Fatal error: Cannot use object of type Cart as array

Is there any way to make PHP 5 behave like PHP 4 so that I can eliminate this error? I realize that this is not a perfect fix, but I do not have time right now to fix all the crappy coding in the scripts of this site right now, I simple need to get it up and running as quickly as possible. The fixes must come later.
