The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

PHP Error - Warning: ... failed to open stream:

HELP!
I'm sure this answer is so completely obvious to some web designers out there, it's just driving me insane.

I'm designing PHP web pages and whenever I try and use a PH function that calls upon a file in a different directory such as:
include_once('/www/ipnmonitor/functionscart/common.php');
or
include("www/menu1.php");

WHATEVER like that, even though i know I'm giving it the correct directory structure, I still get the error message when I run the file in my internet explorer:
something along the lines of:
"Warning: include_once(/www/ipnmonitor/functionscart/common.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\www\menu1.php on line 4"

...Just to re-confirm - It works fine if I mention a file in the same directory as the page I'm designing (or a sub-directory), but I get this error the moment I try and include a file from a different directory.

I'm designing the website on my computer with apache 2.0 local server php version 5.25.

I hope this makes sense and I'm sure this is an easy fix, probably involving changing a simple line in like my php.ini file, but I'm drawing complete blanks!

Thanks gurus!
