Fatal error: Class 'Mail' not found

I'm trying to signup but i keep on receiving this error message :

Fatal error: Class 'Mail' not found

I'm using apache2triad and windows 2003. The mail server is installed, everything works fine, but i cannot get the page to successfully pass this stage. The class is however available in the file mail.php, and i've searched all around the internet but cannot find any solution for that.
