The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Why is it so hard to find a PHP/MySQL/AJAX guy?

For the past several years, one of my firm's primary activities has been site development.

I have really had no trouble finding artists to work with - the front end design people. Visual artists who can do good stuff in PS and then turn it into really nice HTML/CSS/javascript.

But for the life of me, why am I having such a hard time finding a competent PHP/MySQL/AJAX guy to work on a project-by-project basis?

I am not a programmer by training, but have taught myself enough to develop some very good PHP/MySQL coding skills. I've created TWO of my own content management systems that have been deployed on over 300 websites. I've coded all kinds of elegant and decent PHP/MySQL features into sites. (I really don't know javascript so I really haven't gotten into Ajax myself.)

The problem is I am not actually a really good/efficient PHP/MySQL programmer. I know that there are good ones out there who can operate much more efficiently than me when the design gets approved, the artist delivers the actuals (html/CSS/graphics/etc) and it's time to put a site up.

I know there are a LOT of good ones here on EE. So how do I find one to actually hire so they can do the coding and I can focus on management and business development?

I guess this is more of an HR issue than a techical issue, but I really just want to ask the experts here who have been so helpful to me over the years: how do I find people like you? Start Free Trial
