Our past coder used *.php files run with in a bat file to process data, he said he did it this way as some of the "scripts" were very large and if run in a browser, it would always time out.
the bat file method works fine, on apache 2 and php 4 using php.exe file on the old server
now i am moving items to a new server, using apache 2.2 and php5 but using the ISAPI.dll method.
i was curious as to how can i run these bat files still, and can they be run using the isapi module, or do i have to also somehow enable the php cgi (php.exe) file to be able to run also ?
When i try to run the bat file under the new settings like
c:\php5\php.exe c:\scripts\tournamentupdat
or trying
c:\php5\php-cgi.exe c:\scripts\tournamentupdat
a dos window opens and just scrolls down all of the text and the end doing nothing, as if the bat file just reads the codes text and that is it
Any help is appreciated

use php-gtk2 for php programs that you wish to process large amounts of data. and then use a bat to exe converter. they'll run as processes. Gtk::main(); is a never ending loop until you kill the process. Real neat stuff. Go here please: www.kksou.com
