Browse All Topicsi need a simple shipment tracking script in php or any other language. the function of the script will be to tell the status of a shipment or dispatch (shipped, dispatched, On the way etc.) when a tracking number is entered on a web page. if the tracking number is available it will show a page containing the status if not it will show an error page. is this possible without a database?

Using a real database would be best. There are several low-cost and easy to install options (MySQL or SQLite).
If none of these work, you can use plain text files. If you use perl, there are some modules that allow you to work with plain text files as if they were a database, but with some limitations.

"if the tracking number is available ..." means that the tracking number is kept SOMEWHERE and that somewhere is a database.
