Question

i need help with feedback form.

Asked by: predation2000

My team created this feedback form using smarty for a website development project. I am new to smarty and php development. the mandatory fields appear all at once on submit rather than one by one.

For eg:
 If I dont enter anything on the form. I get the following msgbox
* Enter Name
*Enter LastName
etc etc. all at once.

I want it to come one by one. How is that possible? Any help would be great

One-by-one forms usually imply some use of AJAX.  This does not sound so much like a question as a request for application development.  For that it might be best to hire a developer.  Maybe scriplancers could help.  Best regards, ~Ray

Do you have this online? If so, post the link. If not, post the rendered HTML (view source from browser) along with dependent js.

This is a validation js script that does that..The error messages appear in one alert when the user clicks submit..Basically if error is true..error_message is added to the error_message variable..at the end it alerts the error_message variable..so add the to your validation script..

<script language="javascript"><!--
var form = "";
var submitted = false;
var error = false;
var error_message = "";

function check_input(field_name, field_size, message) {
  if (form.elements[field_name] && (form.elements[field_name].type != "hidden")) {
    var field_value = form.elements[field_name].value;

    if (field_value.length < field_size) {
      error_message = error_message + "* " + message + "\n";
      error = true;
    }
  }

if you want the messages to appear individually..just alert after the check e.g.

if (form.elements[field_name] && (form.elements[field_name].type != "hidden")) {
    var field_value = form.elements[field_name].value;

    if (field_value.length < field_size) {
      alert ("Enter correct value");
var field_name.focus;
    }
