two webservers, same public folder

I made many changes but I do not understand what I did.

Please tell me the configuration changes I made to allow two webservers access to the same public folder

So that was the only change that I made?
it is.  the htaccess changes you did it seemed to me that you changed them back to what they originally were.

Unless I'm missing something, it would be more efficient to run both these websites under the one apache and not have 2 running.  It is possible and you can set up your own DNS alias and have apache respond to it such that:

zend.home points to your ip
wamp.home points to your ip

apache will know how to tell these apart based on the name requested ie either zend.home or wamp.home

Ok, the correct answer to my question was: I only made one change.

Tagit suggested a new server setup which I do not understand,
so I opened a new question.
