if you want your page to appear in the centre box,

1) Edit main.html
2) Change this:
<frame name="frames" scrolling="no" src="http://www.google.com.sg" noresize target="main">
to:
<frame name="frames" scrolling="no" src="yourpagename" noresize target="main">

if you want to change the backgroud of the sides,

1) Edit frames.html
2) Change:
<body bgcolor="#66FFFF">
To: (white color)
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">

Hi pal,

To make good pages it would be good to read some html tutorials to know what you're doing.

This is a good link to one:

http://www.cwru.edu/help/introHTML/toc.html

Good luck

Also what Programming_Gal hasn't told you is that to reach the effect you want (an html page into another html page) you need to do the two html pages that have the content (graphics,text) and a third html that joins the other html pages by telling the browser how to display them (width and height of each area - commonly called frame).

by: elbuentrovasPosted on 2003-06-13 at 14:19:10ID: 8720967

There are a variety of HTML editors that do the trick for you, i recommend you Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 or MX.

by: c00nPosted on 2003-06-14 at 03:33:56ID: 8723276

if you want to place the content in the middle, you do not have to define 9 frames: you can define 1 iframe:

<iframe src="extrainfo.html" width=200 height=300 hspace=30 vspace=50 scrolling=yes>
this text appears, when browser does not support frames
</iframe>

the attributes:
src is the filename of the html file shown inside your frame
width and height is what the attribute name says
hspace is the distance to the left browserborder
vspace is the distance to the top browserborder
scrolling allows the iframe to use a scrollbar if the inside html doc is larger then the frame

the main advantage to the 9 parts frameset is, that you can define the rest of the window in your first file (e.g. the bgcolor).
so you need 2 files instead of 10.

Here`s one that does`nt use frames:
