Add Days to Date using Javascript

Hi,

I'm using ASP.NET 1.1  and i want to add no of days  to date using Javascript.

My Date Formate  in   txtCheckin_Date  and txtCheckout_Date   is   dd/mm/yyyy
I have Filed    txtCheckin_Date   And
OnBlur    I want  to Add  noofdays  to  txtcheckin_date   and display  in  txtCheckout_Date field.
Pls help to solve it.

Hi sohrabus,

Well, there are better ways of presenting a question.
In order to add days you can use DateObject.setDate()

Yeah. Weird formatting

Here is a readable format but it does not answer what no of days is

My date format in the fields txtCheckin_Date and txtCheckout_Date is dd/mm/yyyy
onBlur of txtCheckin_Date I want  to add no of days (?) to it and display the sum in txtCheckout_Date.

No of Days  in  Numbers  only,    0  to 9.

You can read your checkin date as a string. Loop through it and store data parts as 3 vars.

strDays, strMonths, strYears.

Then simply add your days to strDays and concatenate the values to get the checkout date.

myDate.setDate(myDate.getDate()+5)

(don't know why the example I had used getTime() instead of getDate)

getTime returns number of milliseconds and then calculates number of added days by multiplying by 24 (hours in day), 60 (minutes in hour), 60 (seconds in minute), 1000 (milliseconds in a second). Not the most efficient method, but it works.

yeah i noticed that. just wasn't sure why they did the "roundabout" way versus just using getDate - which is just a whole lot simpler.
