Browse All TopicsWell basically I would like to keep track on which user has log on to my web application. I was wondering what would the best way to do it? I would have thought that there will be one table store the on-line user and dynamically update the table once the user is no longer active or volunteraly log off from the web apps.
Any idea or sample application in C#? What attributes/column would be in the table?

what you could do is when they log in log their user id to a session variable apply called 'userid' which on session start is set to 0. When they log in, write their user id to a logged on table in your database. WHen they log out make it so that it executes a function that then removes the userid from the table. If they do not log out make it so that whent he session ends it executes this same function and passes through the userid held in the session variable.
This might do the trick
