XHTML error: end tag for "link" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified

Both of the ways [see code below] for some reason do not work with XHTML transitional. I am getting this error:  end tag for "link" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified. How can this be fixed?Start Free Trial
