adding header javascript into an external js file

Hi everyone, this probably seems like a strange thing to want to do--but please humor me.  
I have some javascript code in a header that I would like to add to an existing external js file function.  I have tried adding it, but I can't get it to work.  The js file code is below.  Is it possible to add these two to the existing function below?  Thanks!
