Adding #include statement to HTML page

Asked by trilian in Miscellaneous Web Development, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Server Side Includes (SSI)

Hi everyone,

I have approximately 300 HTML files that I would like to add a #inlcude statement to add a header and footer.  This would allow me to globally update the header and footer without having to touch all 300 static HTML pages.  The problem is that I have to keep the .html extension.  Is there a way to accomplish this without saving them as .shtml files or .asp files?

Thanks!
