So, the answer is that word-wrapping is not possible in input element. You can check the length of the textarea input via JavaScript, if you want.
guys, I would like to word-wrap text in an <INPUT> field but can't figure out how to do it. I know I could use textarea but I would also like to use the maxlength attribute and that does not allow that for textarea. Could anyone please propose a solution to this

It's no possible to do with the INPUT control.
You have to use the textarea.
No HTML control will wrap the text.
