Browse All TopicsHello,
I am working on a webpage and I need to embed a ustream.tv video on the page. Ustream.tv offers the embed code to copy, but it contains an embed tag that is not supported by XHTML. An object tag must be used. I tried changing it to an object tag but that also produces errors. I do not understand what I need to change to get it to validate properly. I have included the code that ustream provides and the unfinished website link.
http://www.black-cardinal.
I also receive errors while the page is attempting to load. The video will play, but only after I dismiss the errors. I have included those errors in a .pdf
Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't get any Flash errors. Do you have the developers Flash plugin installed? With the developer's Flash plugin, you get errors that normal users (users with the normal Flash plugin) will not see. Since the player works for me fine, I'm guess the Flash errors shouldn't be a concern for you. Aside from that, you have no way of altering the Flash/Actionscript behind the Ustream player anyhow.

For the embed code, I'd recommend using swfobject: http://code.google.com/p/s
Then refer to this documentation for a standards compliant way of embeding the flash object:
