I have xml file in which i want to edit or add or delete the nodes through the java program.
Am able to do that by using inputstreams etc..
But is there anything in XML api by which i can open an xml file and update it or add to it or delete some particular node.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi umarqul,
Using JAXP
am able to edit,modify and delete the xml file.
When i test the same in websphere, am able to delete the node but not able to add or modify.
XML file gets updated with blank page whenever i add or modify thro program.
am passing the node and the target xml file to transform method of Transformer.
Transformer t=new ................
t.transform(source, target);
Result of this is NULLPointerException..
any one has solution for this????

For sheer flexibility in naviagting around a tree the creation of an XML DOM and using its API is the best. Try the Java Xerces parser from Apache.org.
