u can use xsl:variables for constants. or u have to use built in functions for the xslt/1999. as avner said eval is not there.but tools r available to convert ur 1998 xslt to 1999 like htmlconverter from microsoft.

<xsl:eval will not with the XSLT namespace, instead you need to use the msxml script extension : library/de fault.asp? url=/libra ry/ en-us/x mlsdk/htm/ xsl_elm_qz _4s50.asp
