The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

XML help needed

Hello Experts, I have been trying over the past few days to get the hang of XML, Schema & XSL  .... The first two went ok, however I am stumped with XSL, please help !

I have been following the tutorials on www.w3schools.com & am using Altova XMLSpy Home edition

I am going to number my questions to help you all ;)

My XML Schema is apparently valid according to XMLspy - http://www.davidbirch2.com/Questions/Settings/XSD/QuestionFormat_0.1.XSD ( >>>1<<< Though I would be greatful for a human eye to be ran over it since it is my first attempt - any comment would be great)

I then Built an XML document based on that schema - though I had trouble with the name spaces (are they ok?  >>>2<<< ) http://www.davidbirch2.com/Questions/Questions/Q00001_WithoutXSL.xml

I have now tried to create a Style Sheet for this question in order to put it into the format of this page http://www.davidbirch2.com/Questions/Settings/QFormat%2001.htm (  >>>3<<< why does the refer button not work? the page is correct XML - http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.davidbirch2.com%2FQuestions%2FSettings%2FQFormat%252001.htm)

 >>>4<<<  - most points for this one
My attempt at a style sheet is http://www.davidbirch2.com/Questions/Settings/QuestTesting.xsl
and an attempt at a use is http://www.davidbirch2.com/Questions/Questions/Q00001.xml   I really have got no idea whats going wrong let alone how to fix it....
 >>>5<<<  I also get an error of no valid DTD or w3 Schema found when I try to validate the XSL file in XML Spy

Any help would be really great, this is driving me crazy,

David
