I've used the © and &mark; before; however, they do not get coded properly into the FLV Player. They appear as "$copy;"

I created a Flash FLV player which is populated by an XML file. I need to display certain characters, such as the copyright symbol and registered trademark symbol, in my XML playlist.
How would I go about doing this?

Special characters are not allowed so improvise. Use © for the copyright symbol and &mark; for the trademark, then when you read the element replace this string with the actual symbol. I can show this in VB.net. The unicode chars are 169 for copyright and 174 for registered trademark.
