Validating an XML Document against an XSD using ASP VBScript

Validating an XML file against an XSD file is something that I am completely new too and I have come up against an error which I just cannot resolve.

I am trying to load the XSD file using the MSXML2.XMLSchemaCache object using the VBScript code as shown below. However I receive the following error:

msxml3.dll error '80004005'

Incorrect definition for the root element in schema.

/PEAT/Admin/Import/Process/Default.asp, line 17

With my limited knowledge of XSD I can't seem to find where the problem is. Any help would be much appreciated.

xsdFile = Server.MapPath("/PEAT/Admin/Xml/Schema/peat_data_import.xsd")
 
Set objXsd = Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.XMLSchemaCache")
 
Call objXsd.add("http://www.msnpsa.nhs.uk/peat/", xsdFile)

The only difference I needed to get this working was using Msxml2.XMLSchemaCache.6.0 and Msxml2.DOMDocument.6.0.
