XML Include

I have a XML file that I want to include in another XML file.  I found a simple example that doesn't seem to be working.  I create the 2 XML files, then when I open "page.xml" in IE or Firefox I see the include code, not the contents of "footer.xml".

Am I missing something here?

Not really, IE (and Firefox) don't merge XML files, ie: they don't process XML includes. This http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa302291.aspx however shows a .NET solution.
