Browse All TopicsHi, I'm trying to add a node to some XML, but can't quite get what I'm after. I can add a child using append child, I really want to add the node as a sibling after the node I've selected.
For example with the code below I'd like to find the node with id="1b", then insert a node under it as 1c as 1b's sibling. Also, if the node should be on the top level, finding the node qith id="4" I should be able to use the same code to insert id="5".

I've no idea what language you use, but I assume for the discussion VB.NET.
Instead of using the AppendChild, you can use the InsertAfter. This takes the node that you want to insert after and will insert a sibling at that location. Something along these lines:
