I am working on handling XML data in SQL server. More exactly when working with Typed XML. I have to create a schema before I can make use of my type of XML. So I defined one. It works well, I used it as a type in creating table and also inserting values.
But when I use the namespace query to retrieve information about the pre created and cataloged XML schema
It throws an error
SELECT XML_SCHEMA_NAMESPACE('Sybe
Msg 6314, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Collection specified does not exist in metadata : 'BookTypes'
Name of my DB is Sybex Practice and name of my schema is BookTypes
When it is clearly visible in the Tree structure under
Programmability/Types/XML schema collections/dbo.BookTypes
The query result says that collection does not exist.
I did try replacing BookTypes with dbo.BookTypes but still its the same
Please Help

XML_SCHEMA_NAMESPACE takes two arguments:
- relational schema name - a name of the schema in which your xml schema collection is stored (dbo in your case)
- XML schema collection name (BookTypes in this case)
Eventually you can specify the namespace but this is not a case here.
So I think you should query like below:
